Qatar Ranks Second Globally for New Foreign Direct Investment Projects
Qatar ranked second globally in the number of new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects per one million people in 2025, according to data published by the International Media Office.
The country recorded 176 new FDI projects during 2025, representing a 24% year-on-year increase, highlighting Qatar’s growing attractiveness as a destination for international investment.
The International Media Office explained that greenfield foreign direct investment refers to cross-border investment in which companies establish or expand operations in foreign markets, including building new facilities and creating new employment opportunities.
The strong performance reflects Qatar’s growing position as a global investment destination, supported by its investment-friendly environment, regulatory framework, advanced infrastructure, and ongoing efforts to diversify the national economy.
