Msheireb Properties Launches “Rashed” to Enhance the Smart City Experience in Downtown Doha
Msheireb Properties has announced the launch of the first phase of “Rashed,” its smart digital concierge, across Msheireb Downtown Doha, marking a new step in enhancing the district’s smart city capabilities and delivering an advanced digital experience for residents, visitors, and tenants.
The launch follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Msheireb Properties and MEEZA, Qatar’s leading managed IT services and integrated technology solutions provider, in April 2026. The pilot phase began the day after the agreement was signed, before the service was expanded during the first phase to reach a wider segment of the community.
The launch also follows Msheireb Properties’ recognition at the Enterprise AI Technology Awards, where it received the “Organizational Excellence and Best Use of AI and Digital Empowerment of the Year” award at a ceremony held at Rosewood Doha in Lusail on September 10, 2026.
Developed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise using “Fanar,” Qatar’s Arabic generative AI model, “Rashed” has been deployed through 15 interactive smart kiosks across Msheireb Downtown Doha. The digital concierge operates around the clock, combining artificial intelligence, smart city systems, and user-centered design through a unified digital interface.
“Rashed” provides users with services including location-based guidance, instant access to information, and voice interaction in both Arabic and English. Visitors can use the service to find nearby restaurants, while residents can access information about parking facilities and families can explore upcoming events and activities. Additional services, including event bookings and parking fee payments, are planned as the platform continues to evolve.
Msheireb Properties is positioning “Rashed” as an evolving digital service rather than a fully completed product. The first phase will allow the company to gather user feedback and analyze how residents and visitors interact with the digital concierge, helping identify future development priorities and services based on real-world usage.
Ahmed Al-Karbi, Director of Information and Communications Technology at Msheireb Properties, said the launch of “Rashed” represents an important first step toward understanding how artificial intelligence can support everyday interactions within Msheireb Downtown Doha. He emphasized that the initiative is designed around continuous development, using the experiences and feedback of residents, visitors, and tenants to gradually enhance the service.
Faisal Al-Kuwari, Chief Strategy Officer at MEEZA, said the strategic collaboration with Msheireb Properties reflects the company’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies and AI to deliver innovative solutions that benefit the community. He noted that the partners are working to develop a secure, scalable, and future-ready platform capable of supporting new services and AI applications that deliver practical value to users.
The launch builds on Msheireb Downtown Doha’s existing digital ecosystem and supports the continued development of integrated, data-driven solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and service quality across the district. During the first phase, Msheireb Properties will continue to evaluate “Rashed’s” performance, incorporate user feedback, and explore additional applications that strengthen its role as a digital interface connecting the city with its community.
