Karwa Operates More Than 70% of Its Public Transport Fleet with Electric Buses
Karwa Transport Company hosted a group of young Sustainable Development Ambassadors from the Sustainable Development Ambassadors Center as part of the "Sustainability Coffee" program, aiming to showcase the company's efforts in promoting sustainability and environmentally friendly transportation in Qatar.
The visit included a tour of the Lusail Electric Bus Depot, recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest electric bus depot, where participants explored advanced green mobility technologies and the depot's role in supporting low-emission public transport.
Karwa also highlighted its key sustainability and innovation initiatives, noting that more than 70% of its public transport fleet now operates using electric buses, reflecting its commitment to clean and smart mobility solutions.
The ambassadors met with company executives and specialists, participated in discussions, and toured the electric bus facilities to learn about operational practices and the future of sustainable public transportation.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both Karwa and the Sustainable Development Ambassadors Center to promoting sustainability awareness, empowering youth, and supporting initiatives aligned with Qatar's national development goals.
