34% Growth in Mortgage Values Reflects Strong Real Estate Financing
According to the Ministry of Justice’s monthly real estate bulletin, Qatar’s real estate market remained resilient in June 2026, despite regional developments and cautious market sentiment. Real estate transaction values recorded a slight year-on-year increase, reaching QAR 1.69 billion.
Mortgage activity showed stronger performance, with total mortgage values rising by 34% year-on-year to QAR 3.08 billion across 109 transactions, reflecting a notable increase in the average mortgage value.
Meanwhile, mortgage lending by Qatari banks continued to grow, reaching approximately QAR 190 billion, representing nearly 15% of the total domestic loan portfolio. This highlights sustained financing demand and continued banking sector support for the real estate market.
The market also continued to absorb an increase in residential and commercial property supply following the completion of several real estate projects in recent years. Despite the expanded supply, property prices continued to rise in some areas, underscoring resilient demand and the market’s ability to maintain stability.
