Ashghal Adopts 3D Printing to Advance Sustainable Construction Projects in Qatar

Ashghal is currently building two schools using 3D printing technology as part of a 14-school program, marking a major step toward innovation and sustainability in Qatar’s construction sector.

In a move that reflects its commitment to smart construction technologies, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is adopting 3D printing technology for construction projects for the first time in Qatar, supporting innovation, sustainability, and efficiency in the building sector.

Ashghal is currently constructing two schools using 3D printing technology as part of a 14-school public-private partnership (PPP) program, aiming to accelerate project delivery, improve construction efficiency, and enhance workplace safety.

The technology offers several advantages, including faster project completion, lower construction costs, reduced reliance on on-site labor, minimized construction waste, and a smaller carbon footprint.

It also enables the precise execution of complex architectural and structural designs using advanced digital models, giving designers greater flexibility while maintaining high quality standards.

Ashghal stated that adopting 3D printing is part of its strategy to advance digital transformation in the construction sector, promote innovative and sustainable solutions, strengthen the capabilities of national companies, and support the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
