The Qatari Businessmen Association held a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Municipality and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), as part of its efforts to strengthen cooperation and communication between the private sector and government and economic entities in the country.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the main challenges facing the private sector and discussed key issues related to supporting local producers, including investment incentives and pricing mechanisms. They also addressed the development of strategic food stock baskets to ensure proper storage periods for each product in line with the country’s strategic needs.
Officials from the Ministry of Municipality highlighted the ministry’s upcoming programs and future projects aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030. They explained that projects are being developed based on the comprehensive urban plan within an integrated national infrastructure framework that connects various sectors through a unified digital platform. This framework covers infrastructure, food security, real estate valuation, and the monitoring of government building projects, roads, sewage networks, and the preparation of land for citizens and farms.
Business representatives, for their part, outlined the private sector’s priorities, including investment incentives, financing mechanisms, legislative procedures, land allocation for farms, and greater private sector participation in infrastructure, road, and food security projects.
