Doha is the hub of artificial intelligence in the Middle East.
Qatar is not waiting for the future of artificial intelligence… it is investing today to build it, from the heart of the region to the world.

Qatar continues to strengthen its position as a key hub for artificial intelligence in the Middle East and North Africa, driven by major investments and long-term strategic plans. In recent years, the country has intensified its global presence in the AI sector, including plans to establish a partnership worth up to $20 billion between its sovereign wealth fund and Brookfield AI.

According to a report by technology-focused firm Benzinga, Qatar is hosting the region’s first advanced AI computing facility, funded by MBK Group, built by AILO, and powered by OLLM as its primary user. This initiative reflects Qatar’s early adoption of confidential computing, which allows data to remain encrypted during processing—an increasingly essential requirement for enterprise AI applications in regulated industries.

The report estimates Qatar’s technology investments this year at more than $25 billion, highlighting several major deals completed in 2025. These include the launch of QAI and participation in a $275 million funding round for AI company D-Matrix. In parallel, Qatar continues to roll out previously announced government incentives totaling approximately $2.4 billion, aimed at supporting domestic AI development, strengthening national capabilities, and attracting global talent and investment to Doha through initiatives such as the Fanar Platform.

The report further noted that Qatar’s AI investments extend beyond its domestic market to key international destinations, including the United States and Japan. Recently, Qatar invested around $55 million in Japan-based Takcend Photomask as part of a funding round designed to expand the company’s operations and global reach. These investments, the report emphasized, are based on thorough evaluations of the companies’ future potential, underscoring Qatar’s strategic and carefully planned approach to AI investment.
