General Authority of Customs adopts Agentic AI to enhance customs efficiency
The General Authority of Customs announced the adoption of Agentic AI within its “Al Nadeeb” system, as part of its digital transformation journey to build a smarter, more efficient, and proactive customs ecosystem.
The authority explained that Agentic AI represents an advanced generation of artificial intelligence systems, transforming customs operations by shifting from traditional execution models to goal-driven intelligent systems capable of analysis, decision-making, and autonomous action.
It added that Agentic AI goes beyond traditional automation by converting data into direct operational value that supports decision-making, while ensuring seamless integration of processes within a unified system and enhancing overall performance efficiency.
The system also enables data-driven decision-making across all operational stages, links data to outcomes for performance measurement and improvement, and strengthens responsiveness to unusual patterns and risks. Additionally, it supports the development of a proactive, evidence-based compliance model while maintaining the essential role of human judgment.
