United Development Company Wins Two Awards at the 2025 Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards
"This dual victory represents a remarkable achievement that highlights UDC’s leadership in marina management and strengthens Qatar’s position as a world-class maritime destination."

United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl and Gewan Islands, has won two prestigious awards at the 2025 Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards, held as part of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show.

In a statement today, the company announced that it received the Gold Award for “Best Marina” and the Silver Award for “Sustainability.” The recognition highlights the excellence of The Pearl Island Marina, which was inaugurated in 2007 and stretches along a five-kilometer waterfront.

The Gold Award was granted following a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process that included formal submissions, committee assessments, and in-depth interviews with experts. This reflects the credibility of the award and underscores the marina’s alignment with top standards of safety, service quality, environmental practices, and innovation—through advanced technologies, operational efficiency, enhanced visitor experience, and strong customer loyalty.

Commenting on the achievement, Yasser Al Jaidah, Chief Executive Officer of UDC, said:

"This recognition reflects the remarkable progress made by The Pearl Island Marina in delivering a world-class marine experience based on operational excellence and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. We continue to develop an advanced and responsible marine environment that elevates the experience for yacht owners and visitors alike, reinforcing our vision of The Pearl as a vibrant and integrated destination."

He added that UDC remains committed to investing in sustainable marine infrastructure that supports Qatar’s long-term development goals.

The company noted that, with participation from more than twenty international entities in this year’s Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards, the dual win reaffirms UDC’s leadership in marina management, its advancement in sustainability, and its role in strengthening Qatar’s position as a world-class maritime destination.
