Ashghal Completes Package Three of East Al Wajba Development, Serving 417 Plots
"Driven by local expertise, East Al Wajba now stands with modern roads and upgraded utilities for its residents."

Qatar’s Public Works Authority "Ashghal" announced today the completion of Package Three of the East Al Wajba Roads and Infrastructure Development Project, marking a major step in enhancing services and improving the quality of life for residents.

Eng. Hamad Al-Mujaba, Head of the Western Areas Section, highlighted that field teams worked extensively over recent months to develop the internal road network and provide integrated infrastructure services, benefiting around 417 residential plots. He added that the project not only delivered new roads but also introduced advanced traffic safety features and comprehensive utility networks to meet residents’ daily needs.

Al-Mujaba noted that Ashghal had already completed Package One in early 2024, serving 388 plots, and with the completion of Package Three, East Al Wajba now enjoys a modern road network and fully upgraded infrastructure.

Eng. Ghanem Al-Tamimi, Project Engineer, explained that works included a 17 km road network linking key facilities such as schools, shops, mosques, and Al Wajba Health Center. The project also delivered 3,180 parking spaces, as well as 34 km of pedestrian and cycling tracks, supporting sustainable mobility.

On the infrastructure side, the works covered 12 km of sewage networks, 15.7 km of stormwater and groundwater drainage systems, 8.5 km of treated water networks, and extensions to the potable water system connected to the main network.

Al-Tamimi emphasized that 70% of the project’s materials and suppliers were sourced locally, in line with Ashghal’s “Taheel” initiative launched in 2017 to support national products and empower local industry.
