In a statement issued today, QatarEnergy noted that the agreement marks a significant milestone in the longstanding relationship between the two leading energy and industrial gas companies. Air Liquide is one of Qatar’s first helium customers, a key purchaser of Qatari helium, and a technology provider for Qatar’s helium production facilities.
Commenting on the agreement, H.E. Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, said that Air Liquide has been a strategic partner in Qatar’s helium industry since the launch of the country’s first helium plants in 2005. He highlighted the company’s vital role in ensuring reliable global supplies of high-quality Qatari helium to a wide range of critical industries.
Al-Kaabi added that Qatar is one of the world’s largest exporters of helium, noting that the country’s helium production capacity will more than double with the North Field LNG expansion projects. This expansion is expected to support growing global demand and enable the development of multiple industries that rely on helium to drive human and industrial progress.
