Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA), in collaboration with Marina Marine Services, a specialized marine services company, has officially inaugurated a new marine services facility in Umm Alhoul Free Zone, marking a strategic step toward strengthening the country’s marine services sector and supporting offshore oil and gas operations.
In a statement, the Authority explained that the new facility reflects its commitment, in partnership with the private sector, to enhancing marine service capabilities and creating long-term sustainable value for this vital industry.
Spanning more than 26,700 square meters, the facility has been developed to meet the growing demand for vessel and marine support services, including routine supply, maintenance, safety preparedness, tug services, marina operations, and the installation and repair of marine equipment and structures, enabling it to respond effectively to current market dynamics.
The facility allows Marina Marine Services to operate, lease, and maintain vessels, while offering an integrated range of marine support services such as field maintenance, machinery repair, and the fabrication and installation of marine structures, serving both local and regional markets.
Commenting on the inauguration, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani, CEO of Qatar Free Zones Authority, stated that the project underscores QFZA’s commitment to developing the marine services sector as a key driver of industrial growth and economic diversification, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, while reinforcing Qatar’s position as a regional hub for high-value marine services.
For his part, Abdullah Hamad Al Manna, General Manager of Marina Marine Services, said that the new facility represents a significant milestone in enhancing the company’s operational capabilities and delivering reliable marine services that support offshore oil and gas activities, supported by advanced infrastructure and strict safety, sustainability, and operational excellence standards.
The inauguration aligns with QFZA’s broader efforts to build a robust marine services ecosystem around Al Marsa Port in Umm Alhoul Free Zone, which is undergoing development to become a leading destination for luxury yachts and specialized marine services in the Gulf region.
