The Qatar Chamber hosted a delegation from the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) today. The Qatari side was led by H.E. Mohamed bin Towar Al-Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of the Chamber, while the Turkish delegation was headed by Mr. Cagatay Ozdoru, a member of TUSIAD’s Board of Directors. The meeting was also attended by senior members of the Chamber.
The discussions focused on enhancing economic and trade relations between Qatar and Turkey, identifying key areas for cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, and reviewing investment opportunities available in each market.
Al-Kuwari emphasized the strength of Qatari-Turkish economic relations, noting the significant growth witnessed in recent years driven by high-level visits and mutual efforts to build strategic partnerships that serve both nations and create new opportunities for the private sector.
He noted that bilateral trade reached approximately QAR 4.5 billion last year, with hundreds of Turkish companies operating in Qatar across construction, infrastructure, industry, services, and logistics. He also highlighted Turkey’s importance as a major investment destination for Qatari businessmen, especially in real estate, food industries, manufacturing, and tourism.١
He added that the meeting represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation and explore new partnerships in areas of mutual interest, affirming the Chamber’s readiness to support private sector collaboration between the two countries.١
For his part, Mr. Cagatay Ozdoru praised the strong ties between Qatar and Turkey, stressing that TUSIAD is the largest and most influential business organization in Turkey, representing leading industrial and financial groups. He expressed the Turkish side’s interest in forming new commercial alliances with Qatari companies and invited the Qatar Chamber to organize a business delegation visit to Turkey to explore available investment opportunities.
Meanwhile, H.E. Rashid bin Hamad Al-Athba, Second Vice-Chairman of the Qatar Chamber, affirmed the depth of bilateral relations, noting that many Qatari businessmen have existing investments in Turkey and are looking to expand them.
