Ashghal completes improvement of 84 km of northern roads and builds 22,600 parking spaces.

The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” has announced the completion of the Northern Areas Roads Improvement Project, which included the development of road networks and infrastructure across various northern regions, with a total length exceeding 84 kilometers and the construction of 22,600 parking spaces for cars and buses.

The project aims to enhance infrastructure efficiency, improve traffic safety, and provide better road connectivity. The works included the construction of permanent and temporary roads, installation of 746 streetlight poles, and the creation of pedestrian and cycling paths, along with landscaping and the planting of 1,850 trees.

Key improvements covered access roads to Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor and Lusail Stadium, as well as new routes serving the Maritime Academy, Northern Security Complex, and Fish Farm, in addition to road networks in areas such as Umm Salal Mohammed, Bu Fasila, Al Kaaban, Rawdat Al Hamama, and Al Faroush.

Ashghal confirmed that 85% of the project materials and components were sourced locally, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to supporting Qatar’s national industry and advancing infrastructure development in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
