Ashghal Awards 13 New Infrastructure Contracts Worth QAR 12 Billion
"QAR 12 billion in 13 new contracts to boost Qatar’s sustainable infrastructure."

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the awarding of 13 new contracts with a total value of QAR 12 billion, as part of its strategic plan to enhance sustainable infrastructure services in line with Qatar’s population growth, urban expansion, and future vision.

The contracts cover multiple key sectors, including:

  • 4 contracts for the construction and development of educational, healthcare, and service buildings.
  • 5 contracts for the operation and maintenance of road and drainage networks.
  • 2 contracts for the development of road networks.
  • 2 contracts for the development of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

The projects will leverage advanced technologies such as autonomous vehicles for asset surveying, AI-powered digital platforms, laser-based defect detection, drones and robots equipped with CCTV cameras, automation, digital twins, predictive analytics, and smart control systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and long-term sustainability.

Eng. Khalid Saif Al-Khiyarain, Director of Project Affairs at Ashghal, stated that the authority continues to implement its strategic plan to develop infrastructure and public buildings in line with the country’s aspirations. Meanwhile, Eng. Ahmed Al-Ahmad, Director of Assets Affairs, highlighted that the awarded operation and maintenance contracts will enhance the management of road and drainage networks, ensuring asset sustainability and improving service quality for citizens and residents alike.
