Shell and QASR Technologies Forge Strategic Partnership to Harness AI in Subsurface Reservoir Analysis
Shell Qatar and QASR Technologies Launch Strategic AI Partnership to Transform Subsurface Energy Analysis

Shell Qatar, through its Research & Technology Centre, has announced a 12-month strategic partnership with QASR Technologies — a Qatari startup specializing in subsurface reservoir simulation powered by artificial intelligence. QASR, a spinoff from Hamad Bin Khalifa University and incubated at Qatar Science & Technology Park, was founded by Dr. Ahmed Abu Sheikha and is recognized for its advanced expertise in AI and data analytics.

Musfer Al-Badawi, Vice President of Pearl GTL at Shell Qatar, stated:

> “This collaboration represents our strong commitment to nurturing national talent, fostering innovation, and contributing to the realization of Qatar National Vision 2030.”

The partnership will focus on enhancing pressure and flow data analysis in subsurface layers using AI technologies, enabling faster and more accurate decision-making in reservoir management.

Dr. Ahmed Abu Sheikha, CEO of QASR Technologies, added:

> “We are proud of this significant partnership with Shell Qatar, which demonstrates QASR’s strength in providing AI-powered reservoir analysis. It's a key step in advancing Qatar’s knowledge-based economy, driven by local innovation.”

This initiative reflects a broader national strategy to turn academic research into real-world solutions and provide Qatari innovators with the tools to grow and scale their ideas. Through this collaboration, Shell Qatar continues to invest in the future of energy and the country's evolving knowledge economy.
