Qatar to Host the Mobile World Congress (MWC Doha) for Five Consecutive Years

The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has announced that it will host the Mobile World Congress (MWC Doha) for five consecutive years, marking the first time the event is held in the Middle East and North Africa region.

H.E. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Mr. John Hoffman, CEO of the GSM Association (GSMA), officially signed the hosting agreement today during a ceremony on the sidelines of the MWC Barcelona 2025 event, attended by senior GSMA officials.

H.E. Al Mannai emphasized that the congress serves as a global platform to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among companies and experts, contributing to accelerating digital transformation and positioning Qatar as a global hub for digital innovation in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. He highlighted Qatar’s readiness to host the Mobile World Congress for the first time in the MENA region, underscoring the country’s commitment to adopting digital solutions and strengthening its leadership in the telecommunications and IT sector.

He further stated that hosting the event presents a strategic opportunity to attract investments and support the implementation of the Digital Agenda 2030. The congress is expected to enhance collaboration among leading companies in the industry, opening new avenues for growth and digital innovation in the region.

The inaugural edition of MWC Doha, scheduled for November 25-26, will showcase the latest advancements in mobile technology, artificial intelligence, fintech, and smart connectivity. It will also address key topics such as digital inclusion, sustainability, and future technologies, providing unparalleled opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
