The organising committee of Seatrade Maritime Qatar Conference and Exhibition has revealed the details and list of sponsors for the first edition of the highly anticipated maritime event, which will be held on February 4 and 5, 2025 at the Sheraton Doha Hotel and Resort under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport.

The conference, hosted by the Ministry of Transport and jointly organized by Mwani Qatar and Seatrade Maritime, discusses a number of important topics of interest to the maritime industry, such as safe and sustainable shipping, digitization, the transformation of marine energy and the role of liquefied natural gas, financing technologically advanced and environmentally friendly fleets in the future, and other topics with the participation of a group of prominent specialists, experts and decision-makers from around the world.

The first conference of its kind in Qatar aims to enable ports and the logistics sector in the country to keep pace with growth and benefit from global expertise in these fields, which contributes to achieving the strategic plan of the Ministry of Transport aimed at transforming the State of Qatar into a vibrant regional commercial and logistics hub in the region.

During the conference, Ms. Najla Al Jaber, Acting Director of the Roads Affairs Department at the Ministry of Transport, said: The Ministry’s hosting of this event comes in line with its strategic plans aimed at developing the maritime transport sector in the State of Qatar, given that this event will address a variety of vital topics of interest to the maritime industry such as digitization, sustainability, the transition to clean energy, financing, and building strategic partnerships, and will witness a distinguished presence of decision-makers, company heads, and international experts in the field of ports and maritime navigation. The accompanying exhibition will also highlight the latest global technology used in the maritime transport industry that national companies can use, contributing to the development and advancement of this sector to support the national economy and trade exchange of the country.

She added: The advanced infrastructure and modern technologies of the country’s ports, led by Hamad Port, have contributed to attracting major international shipping companies, and the modern technology used in them has played an important role in speeding up the completion of handling operations, which has contributed to providing more comprehensive services and more solutions that allow customers to achieve maximum benefit in an ideal competitive environment for business.

Najla Al Jaber stressed that the Ministry of Transport will continue to work on developing infrastructure projects for the transport sector and its supporting services, to keep pace with successive changes and developments, and to be a true legacy for future generations, thus achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
