Strong Demand for Land Continues to Drive Qatar’s Real Estate Market
The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) has confirmed that real estate activity remained concentrated in the most actively traded property categories throughout 2025, reflecting market stability, sustained demand for key real estate assets, and the sector’s vital role in supporting Qatar’s economic growth and investment environment.
According to the Authority, vacant land accounted for the largest share of property sales transactions, representing 34.4% of the total deals completed during the year. This highlights continued investor interest in land as a strategic investment asset, driven by Qatar’s ongoing urban expansion and major development projects.
Villas ranked second, accounting for 33.4% of total transactions, indicating continued demand for independent residential properties. Apartments followed with 29.4%, reflecting growing interest in modern residential developments and integrated communities. Other property categories represented the remaining 6.4% of total sales.
The Authority noted that transactions involving vacant land, villas, and apartments collectively accounted for 93.6% of all real estate sales in 2025, underscoring the concentration of market activity in the most sought-after property segments. This trend reflects the resilience of Qatar’s real estate market and its continued ability to attract investors, supported by large-scale urban development projects and an evolving regulatory framework that enhances market transparency and efficiency.
The data also highlighted the sector’s strong performance in 2026, with real estate sales transactions reaching approximately QAR 9.2 billion during the first quarter, marking a 28.5% year-on-year increase compared with the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, the average value of a real estate transaction rose to QAR 5.8 million, indicating increasing demand for high-value real estate assets and sustained investor confidence in the Qatari market.
The real estate sector continues to play a key role in supporting Qatar’s national economy, benefiting from population growth, ongoing infrastructure development, and diverse investment opportunities, further strengthening the country's real estate market and supporting the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
