The awarding and tendering of 20 projects worth QAR 11.5 billion marks a strong boost to infrastructure development and reinforces the role of Qatari companies in delivering strategic projects.

The Ashghal (Public Works Authority) has announced the award and tendering of 20 new projects with a total estimated value of approximately QAR 11.5 billion, as part of the state’s plan to complete infrastructure, buildings, drainage, and public utility projects in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

During the first quarter of 2026, 12 new projects worth over QAR 4.5 billion were awarded. These include six major building projects, most notably the development of Hamad General Hospital and the design and construction of a new post office building in Al Thumama. The projects also cover the renovation of the Racing and Equestrian Club and the Qatar Equestrian Federation, in addition to Phase 4 of Al Uqda Equestrian Complex development.

In the roads and residential infrastructure sector, four projects were awarded, including road and infrastructure development in Izghawa and Al Thumaid, as well as landscaping works and the construction of air-conditioned pathways at Qatar University.

Ashghal also plans to tender eight additional projects worth an estimated QAR 7 billion in the coming phase. These include strategic eastern and western tunnel projects for surface and groundwater drainage in the southern region, aimed at enhancing stormwater networks and reducing flooding risks, along with infrastructure upgrades in various residential areas across the country.

HE Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, President of Ashghal, affirmed the authority’s commitment to implementing projects in line with the state’s strategic development plans, noting that the awarded projects were assigned to Qatari companies to support the national private sector and strengthen its competitive capabilities.
