Resumption of Roads and Infrastructure Projects in Simaisma to Enhance Quality of Life

The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” has announced the resumption of work on the fourth package of the remaining roads and infrastructure project in Simaisma, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance service levels and improve quality of life across the country.

Engineer Walid Al Ghol, Project Engineer at Ashghal’s Drainage Networks Projects Department, stated that the fourth package falls within Zone (70) and aims to serve approximately 554 residential plots. The works include the construction of a 26-kilometre road network, the provision of 444 parking spaces, the installation of around 95 street lighting poles, and the planting of more than 40 trees.

He explained that the project involves comprehensive infrastructure development, including the implementation of 27 kilometres of sewerage networks, 22 kilometres of stormwater drainage networks, and nearly 5 kilometres of treated water networks, in addition to the construction of a sewage pumping station.

Al Ghol added that Ashghal is also carrying out works on a stormwater pumping station under the project’s second package, in response to population growth in the Simaisma area. The project aims to improve traffic flow, enhance connectivity with public facilities, and raise road safety levels through street lighting, directional signage, and dedicated pedestrian and bicycle paths.

He noted that current works include the installation of stormwater drainage pipelines, surface water lines, and the extension of treated water networks.
