Ashghal Holds Dialogue Session with Owners and Executives of Contracting Companies to Strengthen Collaboration
The Public Works Authority "Ashghal" held a wide-ranging dialogue session chaired by H.E. Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, President of Ashghal, with the participation of owners and CEOs of contracting companies, representatives from the Qatar Chamber, and senior officials from the authority. The session came as part of Ashghal’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with the private sector.
The session aimed to discuss future directions for infrastructure and building projects in the country, and to explore ways to enhance public-private partnerships in support of Qatar’s ambitious development goals.
H.E. Eng. Al Meer emphasized the vital role of the private sector in delivering national projects, noting that the successful execution of strategic initiatives — including those for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 — helped build local capacity and cement the sector’s regional and international standing.
He reaffirmed Ashghal’s commitment to the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and innovation, underlining the authority’s consistent approach of transparency and credibility in tendering and awarding projects. This, he explained, ensures fair competition and builds investor and contractor confidence.
He stressed the importance of submitting accurate and compliant technical and financial bids, calling on companies to pay close attention to this requirement as a critical condition for bid acceptance.
Regarding pricing policies, H.E. Al Meer warned that uncalculated pricing poses a significant challenge to the sector, undermining market stability and investor confidence.
He concluded by highlighting the importance of professionalism in project management and full compliance with contractual requirements and timelines — key elements in advancing the country's vision for an integrated and sustainable infrastructure system.
