Qatar Ranks First Regionally in Air and Sea Freight Processing Speed

Qatar has ranked first regionally in the speed of processing air and sea freight imports, according to the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI 2.0) 2025.

Qatar also ranked among the top three countries in the region for direct air and postal connectivity, highlighting the development of its transport and logistics ecosystem and its growing role as a global trade and logistics hub.

The Logistics Performance Index measures the efficiency of supply chains and trade. Under its new methodology, the index relies on actual operational data rather than traditional surveys, using 21 indicators across two main dimensions: international connectivity and connectivity, and speed and time efficiency.

The National Planning Council said the performance reflects Qatar’s efforts to enhance supply chain efficiency by reducing cargo dwell times and operational costs while accelerating the movement of goods.

The expansion of Qatar’s air and postal connectivity also strengthens access to global markets and creates new opportunities for international trade, while its advanced infrastructure supports investment by providing an attractive environment for global companies and capital.

This performance further supports Qatar’s efforts to strengthen its position as a regional and international hub for trade and logistics, while enhancing the competitiveness and efficiency of supply chains.
