Kahramaa Wins MEFMA Excellence Award for Facilities Management in Mega Projects The

The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has won the Excellence in Facilities Management Implementation for Mega Projects Award at the fifth edition of the MEFMA Excellence Awards, organized by the Middle East Facility Management Association (MEFMA).

The award recognizes Kahramaa’s adoption of global best practices in facilities and asset management, as well as its use of digital transformation and institutional innovation to improve operational efficiency and support sustainability.

Kahramaa received the award for its asset tracking system using coding technology, integrated with its maintenance management system within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system across the corporation’s facilities.

The project covers more than 600 locations, including administrative buildings, power and water stations, customer service centers, data centers, and other critical facilities. The system maintains a verified database of more than 77,000 assets, helping improve asset management, accelerate maintenance response, and enhance operational efficiency across Kahramaa’s facilities.

Kahramaa’s General Services Department said the award reflects the corporation’s collective efforts and advanced capabilities in facilities and asset management. It also strengthens Kahramaa’s presence in specialized industry forums and highlights its ability to develop innovative operational models driven by digital transformation, efficiency, and sustainability.

The MEFMA Excellence Awards are among the region’s notable awards in the facilities management sector. The fifth edition featured competition across 16 main award categories, attracting more than 150 entries from leading organizations across the region, with 35 winners and highly commended organizations recognized for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of the sector.
