Citizen Land Development Projects Expand Residential Growth Across Qatar
A report by Al Asmakh Real Estate Development Company highlighted the continued implementation of infrastructure and citizen land development projects across Qatar, contributing to the expansion of construction-ready land and supporting activity in the real estate, construction, and related service sectors.
The report noted that citizen land development projects represent a key component of Qatar’s urban development, providing residential plots with integrated infrastructure and services and enabling new areas to move into construction and development phases. This, in turn, expands the geographical scope of real estate activity and strengthens residential areas’ capacity to accommodate population growth.
According to the report, the projects aim to serve more than 33,413 plots across 32 areas, as part of a development portfolio with estimated cash flows of around QAR 35 billion.
Several projects in northern Qatar have progressed this year. The first package of the development project covering Al Uqda, Al Haidan, and Al Khor has been completed, providing services to 738 new plots. Another package in Al Kharaitiyat and Izghawa was also completed, serving 1,514 residential plots, as part of an integrated development plan targeting 5,384 plots upon completion of all phases.
Development efforts in northern areas also include the Jeryan Najma project, which aims to provide services to around 624 residential plots, ongoing works in Simaisma serving approximately 554 plots, and the development of Izghawa and Al Thumama to serve 669 citizen plots.
In western and southwestern areas, development projects continue to support residential expansion. Ongoing works in Mebaireek are targeting around 250 residential plots, while projects in Bu Sidra and Fereej Al Manaseer are targeting approximately 250 plots, in addition to five residential complexes comprising more than 900 housing units.
