Aqarat Unveils Key Highlights of the Fourth Qatar Real Estate Forum
The General Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) has announced key highlights of the fourth edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum 2026, held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The forum will take place from 27 to 29 October 2026 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), in partnership between Aqarat and Informa Tharawat.
H.E. Mohammed bin Hassan Al Maliki, Chairman of Aqarat, said the forum comes at a time of rapid regional and global developments that are impacting various economic sectors, highlighting the importance of discussing the future of real estate and the sector’s ability to adapt to changing economic and geopolitical conditions.
He noted that Qatar’s real estate sector has demonstrated resilience amid regional developments, supported by an improving business environment and evolving regulatory frameworks, which continue to strengthen investor confidence and the attractiveness of the market.
According to data from the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice, real estate transactions in Qatar reached QAR 10.69 billion, equivalent to approximately USD 2.9 billion, during the first half of 2026.
One of the key topics at this year’s forum will be real estate asset tokenization as an innovative financial instrument. This follows the Council of Ministers’ approval of a draft law regulating real estate tokenization and the trading of real estate tokens, along with its draft executive regulations.
The forum will also examine major shifts in global capital allocation, including the restructuring of investment portfolios, rapid technological developments, and the growing search for investment opportunities that offer sustainable returns.
Sheikh Hamad bin Talal Al Thani, Chief Executive Officer of Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, highlighted the company’s role in shaping Qatar’s real estate landscape and strengthening the country’s position as a trusted investment destination regionally and internationally. He noted that Qatari Diar’s portfolio currently includes more than 41 investments, assets, and projects under development across several countries.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Tayeb, CEO of Barwa Real Estate Group, expressed his expectation that this year’s forum will provide a new platform for meaningful discussions and strategic partnerships that can create further opportunities for Qatar’s real estate sector.
Meanwhile, Wouter Molman, Chief Commercial Officer at Informa Tharawat, said the partnership with Aqarat focuses on translating regulatory reforms into tangible market activity, combining Aqarat’s regulatory leadership with Cityscape’s international platform and global network to showcase opportunities in Qatar to a wider audience.
The fourth Qatar Real Estate Forum aims to highlight the sector’s transformation beyond the traditional focus on property development, sales, and purchases, positioning real estate as an increasingly important component of investment, wealth management, and capital markets.
Forum sessions will address a wide range of topics, including financing, returns, economic diversification, real estate asset tokenization, and the impact of rapidly evolving economic, technological, and geopolitical developments on real estate investment flows.
The forum will bring together government leaders, developers, investors, policymakers, and senior industry executives to discuss key challenges and opportunities, explore practical pathways for sector growth, and strengthen Qatar’s ability to attract local and international investment.
The event will take place alongside Cityscape Qatar as part of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Qatar’s real estate investment environment, supporting governance and transparency, and attracting capital through joint events and platforms.
