QatarEnergy is preparing to take delivery of its latest liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, named "Al Mas’habiya," following an official naming ceremony held in China.
Construction of the LNG vessel began in May by China Merchants Energy Shipping at the Hudong Shipyard in Shanghai. Earlier this July, the vessel successfully completed its sea trials before returning to the Changxing Island shipyard on July 4, as reported by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
The naming ceremony was organized by China LNG Shipping Limited, marking a key step in QatarEnergy’s continued efforts to expand its fleet and promote sustainable maritime practices.
Al Mas’habiya is the second of three custom-built LNG carriers commissioned by QatarEnergy, with the delivery of the vessel expected to take place next week.
