The Qatar Financial Center held a seminar entitled “Strategic risk management, factors that must be taken into consideration when investing inside and outside Qatar”, through visual communication technology.
The symposium aimed to provide advice on mitigating risks when investing in the Qatari market and other international markets, and discussed the most important aspects that must be taken into consideration before investing in the State of Qatar and global markets, the risks associated with investment and how to manage and mitigate them.
In his opening speech, Mr.Youssef Mohamed Al-Jaida, CEO of the Qatar Financial Center, highlighted the suitability of the business environment in the State of Qatar and the incentives that are given to international investors to access the booming Qatari market and invest with the least amount of risk possible.
Al-Jaida said, “The booming Qatari economy, positive global economic evaluations and competitive investment incentives have made the State of Qatar a favorite destination for global investors … and our business environment provides unparalleled support for international entrepreneurs and investors to establish and start their business in the local market,” noting that ” In addition to the legal and investment reforms we are carrying out, the business infrastructure and the set of benefits and incentives that we offer are ideal to support business growth and help investors determine how to invest and find suitable investment opportunities for them with ease. ”
For her part, Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Anoud bint Hamad Al Thani, Executive Director of Business Development at the Qatar Financial Center Authority, spoke during her intervention in the seminar about the sustainability of the Qatari economy and its success in withstanding the repercussions of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), and how investors can through it Make the best use of the QFC’s set of benefits and incentives to ensure the continuity and success of their business, and to reduce as much as possible any unexpected risks.
By focusing on four main areas, the experts participating in the symposium provided an overview of the private sector’s contribution to the growth of the State of Qatar’s economy and the investment opportunities available to Qatari companies listed in the financial market. They also discussed investment from a legal perspective, geopolitical risks and foreign exchange risks for Qatari investors.
