Al Jaber added that the contracting sector faces a number of obstacles, and added that the Committee was preparing for a comprehensive study to identify these obstacles and forward the findings to the Chairman of the Chamber.

Following the completion of the study, a series of meetings will be held with the concerned entities related to the contracting sector to discuss the most important obstacles included in the study, and to discuss and suggest appropriate solutions to tackle them.

On their part, the committee members praised the directives of the Prime Minister and Minster of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz, to include companies operating in the contracting and construction sectors to take advantage of the COVID-19 National Response Guarantee Program.

They also praised the Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Ministry’s decision to stop the ban on all companies affiliated with the violating company, so that the ban will be only on the violating commercial register, especially on issues related to the delay of the salary payments.

They also praised the decision to allow the recruitment of new employment, reiterating that this would increase the ability of contracting companies to implement their projects, especially the strategic projects.
