Expanding Investment in Renewable Energy
Dr. Ibrahim Ibrahim, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Al-Attiyah Foundation, reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to fostering dialogue and providing independent insights on global energy and sustainability challenges, especially as efforts accelerate toward achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. He emphasized that building a carbon-free future requires strategic partnerships between governments, businesses, and financial institutions to expand investments in renewable energy.
The CEO Roundtable meetings will continue throughout the year, offering industry leaders the opportunity to exchange ideas and insights on a sustainable future for the energy sector. This was highlighted during the first quarterly CEO Roundtable meeting of 2025, hosted by Al-Attiyah Foundation. Senior industry leaders and international experts at the meeting stressed the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration and strategies to drive the energy transition forward.
The discussions focused on "Balancing Economic Growth and Climate Action in the Energy Sector", addressing how investment can drive sustainable economic growth while ensuring environmental sustainability. Projections indicate that transitioning to a low-carbon economy could create around 30 million new jobs globally by 2030.
The meeting featured distinguished speakers, including Janos Pasztor, former Assistant Secretary-General for Climate Change at the United Nations.
